THE SPANISH WEB ARCHIVE 2009-2019: ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE
In December 2019, the Spanish Web Archive celebrated its 10th anniversary. During the decade of its existence the National Library of Spain consolidated its web archive’s infrastructure, policies and processes to carry out the preservation of heritage online. This project has only been possible with the collaboration of the international community within the framework of the International Consortium for Internet Preservation, the invaluable support of Red.es and the work shared with the regional libraries.
To mark the event, the National Library of Spain is hosting a conference which will review the state of the art of different web archives in the world, the challenge of their long-term preservation, as well as opportunities web archives offer to researachers. The event will end with a round table that will discuss the possibilities of access to web archives in the short and long term.
