WAC 2025 Mentoring Program
The IIPC GA & WAC mentoring program is meant to be a lightweight, collegial networking opportunity for conference delegates to connect and share expertise from their part of the web archiving and digital preservation fields. This program is open to all delegates. We expect mentors and mentees to meet up for at least one coffee break or lunch during the conference.
IIPC will facilitate mentor/mentee matching based on expertise and mentee requests.
Mentors agree to:
- Exchange emails and/or set up at least one voice/video chat to get to know each other before the conference;
- Meet up as early as possible at the Web Archiving Conference to be a friendly face, help make introductions, and generally advise on how to make the most of the conference;
- Offer career advice as requested based on their own experience; and
- Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism in all interactions (and adhering to our Code of Conduct).
Mentees agree to:
- Be responsive and engaged when they receive contact from their mentor;
- Take initiative if they don’t hear from their mentor by reaching out directly to the mentor or to IIPC staff; and
- Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism in all interactions (and adhering to our Code of Conduct).
The IIPC Member Engagement Portfolio will provide tips and starting questions for both parties to get started. The Portfolio Leads and IIPC Staff will also be available during the registration at the GA and WAC and during some of the breaks between sessions.
This program is borrowed heavily from the DLF Forum. Special thanks to CLIR/DLF for their assistance.
