The legal foundation for Netarchive.dk is the Act on Legal Deposit of Published Material of 22 December 2004. In order to collect the Danish internet as completely as possible different strategies are followed:

  1. Bulk harvesting (snapshots) and in depth crawls of ministries and government bodies (2-4 times / year)
  2. Selective harvesting of approx. 200 sites, which are frequently updated and of special importance to the society:
    • National and local news sites (daily, weekly)
    • Political influencers and parties (monthly)
    • Organisations and associations (monthly)
    • Crawls of selected social media profiles
  3. Event harvesting (eg. national and local elections)
  4. Special harvesting (eg. One time crawls of sites closing down).

Access to the archive is restricted to research purposes.
