Stanford University Libraries (SUL) has been engaged in web archiving projects since 2007, focusing on topical collection-building, government documents, and institutional legacy. In the wake of a campus-wide survey of potential use cases in 2011-2012, SUL started building a more comprehensive web archiving program in 2013. This was also the year that SUL joined the IIPC.
The Stanford Web Archive Portal (SWAP) will ultimately provide access to the aggregated historical web data collected and preserved by Web Archiving at Stanford University Libraries.
