The Archive of Tomorrow: a MDGS Bites seminar
From the event organisers:
MDGS (Metadata and Discovery Group in Scotland) is proud to invite you to a seminar entitled: THE ARCHIVE OF TOMORROW.
A walkthrough of metadata work on the National Library of Scotland led ‘Archive of Tomorrow’ project, collecting web archives around online health resources, focusing on repurposing metadata from the British Library’s UK Web Archive platform ACT to populate MARC records. Mark Simon Haydn (Metadata Analyst, National Library of Scotland) and Agnieszka Kurzeja (Metadata Co-ordinator, Cambridge University Libraries) will discuss emerging best practices for cataloguing archived websites; publications and work at other institutions influencing our crosswalk; and the possibility of automating subject heading assignation using ANNIF and other tools.
The event is online, and free, but registration is essential. Further details will be imparted to attendees closer to the event. Please contact Events Secretary Natasha Aburrow-Jones at tashaburrowjones [at] gmail.com with any questions related to the event.
