Engaging with Web Archives 4 Digital Humanities (#EWA4DH)
This year’s EWA (Engaging with Web Archives) conference will be organised as a virtual get together on 01 September 2021, from 5.00pm-8.30pm (Irish time) / 6.00pm-9.30pm (CEST). The event will be chaired by Dr Juan-José Boté (University of Barcelona), Michael Kurzmeier (Maynooth University) and Sharon Healy (Maynooth University).
Engaging with Web Archives (EWA) aims to:
- raise awareness for the use of web archives and the archived web for research and education across a broad range of disciplines and professions in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Political Science, Media Studies, Information Science, Computer Science and more
- foster collaborations between web archiving initiatives, researchers, educators, and IT professionals.
The #EWA4DH 2021 Programme which will include:
- an overview of the collaborative work being carried out by the WARCnet Team,
- a mixed representation of research fields using the archived web as a source of research,
- a report on RDM practices in web archiving studies,
- a Keynote by Dr David Giaretta and Mike Kearney on the development of the OAIS suite of digital preservation standards by the CCSDS-DAI.
