IIPC Collaborative Innovation Program

TIMELINE

PROPOSAL DUE: 20 NOVEMBER 2026
PROJECT START: JANUARY 2027
FINAL REPORT DUE: BY DECEMBER 2027

The funding program is approved for projects starting in January 2027, with $150,000 allocated over a three-year term. A separate call for proposals will be issued each year.
Unused funds roll over annually, with no maximum carryover limit.
Each project must involve at least 2 IIPC members and align with the IIPC Strategic Plan.
Each project must contribute to the field of web archiving and benefit the community as a whole, and not a single institution.
There is no predetermined limit on the number of applications submitted or the total number of grants administered per cycle.
A panel of IIPC members, recruited through an open call, will assess the proposals.
The grant may be used alongside other external funding sources.
We do accept proposals with no funding request. This way, projects will still benefit from IIPC approval and promotion.

MICRO-GRANTS & SEED FUNDING [up to $5,000]
	Low-barrier grants for individual efforts or smaller projects looking to scale. Goal: resources to develop partnerships and build robust future proposals. Projects may include event hosting.
EXPLORATORY GRANTS [up to $7,500]
	Targeted at R&D; testing new concepts and the prototyping of innovative tools.
STRATEGIC DOCUMENTATION & WHITE PAPERS [up to $5,000]
	Funding for feasibility studies, technical scoping, documentation (e.g., codifying informal practices).
FIRST-TIME APPLICANT INCENTIVE [up to $7,500]
	A specialized track for organizations that have never received funding from the IIPC. Includes an IIPC Mentor Organization to provide guidance.
DEVELOPMENT GRANTS [up to $15,000]
	Efforts that require meaningful funding for engineering, program growth, etc.
