Archiving News: IIPC-IFLA News Media Section Workshop

The IIPC and the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) News Media Section will collaborate to present the first in a series of free virtual workshops about web archiving and born-digital news preservation.

• Nola N’Diaye (Bibliothèque Nationale de France) will discuss their work in news media archiving.
• Örn Hrafnkelsson (National and University Library of Iceland) will provide an overview of the library’s openly available web archive and collection of the newspapers and periodicals of the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland.
• Abbie Grotke (Library of Congress) will explain LC’s thematic approach to web archiving as well as other more targeted approaches and provide a background on how that has impacted capturing news media in LC’s collections.
