Introduction to Web Archiving Training
International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) and The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) invite you to join us for a training event which will introduce the main concepts and technologies used in the web archiving discipline.
IIPC and DPC share the ambition to broaden the number and types of organisations undertaking web archiving and have worked together to produce a suite of training resources for beginners.
The training will benefit anyone who is new to web archiving. This may include: practitioners in organisations which do not currently undertake web archiving, recently appointed staff in organisations with an established web archiving programme or colleagues who recently moved into a role which involves some web archiving, students or interns undertaking placements in a related area, managers who wish to gain a basic understanding of how web archiving works and experienced digital preservation professionals who are not familiar with web archiving. It is not suitable for experienced web archiving practitioners.
It will take place over two afternoons (see schedule below). You will hear from experienced web archiving practitioners and have the opportunity to work on practical activities and engage in discussion to support your learning.
Places are strictly limited and should be booked in advance. Registration is free but places are only available to IIPC and DPC members.
Places for DPC members will be restricted to three places for full members and one place for associates on a first come, first served basis.
Places for IIPC members will be restricted to one place per organisation on a first come, first served basis. Additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list and may be allocated a place if the course does not sell out.
